jeff gerard

Independent Chairman - Appointed 21 March 2024

Mr Gerard has over 40 years’ experience in the resources industry, both domestically and abroad in North and South America, China, Mongolia and Africa, in various technical, operational, commercial and executive management roles. An extensive and wide-ranging career, some of the work Jeff has undertaken includes,

  • Chief Development Officer for Xstrata Coal and Glencore focusing on acquisitions and business integration and improvement.

  • Co-ordination of Xstrata’s greenfield and brownfield project developments, feasibility studies, approvals and construction, delivering a broad range of mining and processing projects safely, on time and within budget.

  • Operational integrity and performance reviews for MacArthur River Zinc (Australia), Katanga and Mutanda Copper / Cobalt Assets (DRC) and Kazzinc (Kazakhstan).

  • Chief Operating Officer role for Xstrata Coal South Africa, Xstrata Coal Americas and Mongolia.

  • Development of the Glencore performance improvement process and lead the reviews of the coal.

  • MD of Katanga and Mutanda Copper / Cobalt operations in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Jeff retired from Glencore in 2020 and established a management/consulting business providing services to domestic and international companies in the areas of business strategy, technical evaluations, funding, investment and divestments.


Ferdian Purnamasidi

Non-Executive Director — Appointed 26 April 2016

Ferdian is an Executive at the Salim Group and in charge of Corporate Development and Strategic Acquisitions within the resources sector.

The Salim Group is a diversified conglomerate which owns interests in companies involved in the mining business, dairy products, flour milling, instant noodles, cooking oil, automobile assembly, property, insurance and retail.

Ferdian has spent the past six years facilitating resource development opportunities between Indonesian and Australia. His experiences in Australia include serving as Director at Mach Energy Australia which owns the world-class Mt Pleasant coal operation in the Hunter Valley region in New South Wales. He is also a Director at Robust Resources Limited, a gold & silver exploration company with projects in Indonesia.

In addition, Ferdian also represents the Salim Group at several other mining projects in Indonesia.

Ferdian graduated with Bachelor of Commerce from the Curtin University of Western Australia in 2012 and spent few years working in Australia within various executive roles.

Building upon his experience in the Corporate sector and previous working exposures in Australia, he has formed strategic relationships with those who rely upon his input for commercial, planning and analytical assessments. His portfolio of work includes evaluating new business cases, monitoring existing businesses and providing support for future investment decisions


Brian GeLL

Independent Non-Executive Director — Appointed 4 April 2023

Mr. Gell has over 40 years experience in the construction industry having delivered projects in civil and municipal infrastructure, ferrous and non-ferrous minerals processing, petrochemical, mining and industrial sectors.  Specifically, Brian’s responsibilities have included project management, business development, commercial and contractual negotiations, and leading business units charged with the delivery of mineral processing plants and related facilities.

With an extensive and wide-ranging career, some of the positions Brian has held and projects undertaken include,

  • Leighton Asia based in Hong Kong working on major regional infrastructure projects.

  • Leighton Contractors specialising in contract formation and early works contracts for iron ore and coal sectors

  • General Manager Eastern Region for Mining and Metals with Ausenco with 900 staff deployed on expansion and greenfield projects throughout Australia and Asia.

  • QCoal – Director of Projects with responsibility to develop a number of greenfield projects including all infrastructure, coal processing and handling plants and related facilities.

In 2014, Brian established an advisory company to provide management advisory services to a number of companies in the areas of civil infrastructure, mining infrastructure, contract mining and process plant design, construction, commissioning and operations.

philip condon

Chief Executive Officer — Appointed 29 July 2024

Philip Condon brings over 35 years of extensive experience in the mining industry, spanning diverse commodities and countries. His expertise includes a deep understanding of the copper sector, gained from pivotal roles at notable mines such as CSA Cobar, Freeport’s Grasberg copper mine in West Papua, and Mawarid Mining Company’s copper project in Oman. Phil successfully oversaw construction, commissioning, production ramp-up, overall operations, exploration programs, and a significant mill capacity upgrade.

 As a Managing Director, CEO, and non-executive director, Phil has managed publicly listed corporations on the ASX and the TSX-V, along with privately held companies at various developmental stages. His underground operational knowledge is invaluable for the development of Jervois.

 Mr. Condon holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) with Honors, a Master’s in Business Administration, and is a member of both the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
